Prohibited Items

List of Prohibited Items in Metro Rail Stations and Trains:

1. Trolley Bag - Length-22", Width-14" and Height-9" in size and weight more than 15 kg.

2. Bag - A hand bag or backpack larger than 220" in length, 14" in width and 9" in height. Portable backpack carry on the back inside the metro train.

3. Cartons - Cartons for all goods exceeding 18" in length, 18" in width and 18" in height.

4. Sacks - All types of goods sacks (made of plastic, jute, coarse cloth etc.).

5. Livestock - Any animal, bird or beast (except guide dogs trained to guide the blind subject to permission).

6. Frozen food products - all types of frozen food products (eg: fish, meat, milk, sweets, water, etc.) from which condensate can contaminate the station or train and spread odors.

7. Raw Market - All types of raw vegetables, fish and meat or raw market bags that are leaking or likely to leak, items that can spread odors such as dryer sheets, etc.

8. Agricultural produce - All types of agricultural produce in uncoated condition.

9. Fruits - Unwrapped/unpacked all types of fruits that emit odor or are likely to leak water (eg: Mango, Jam, Jackfruit, Litchi, Pineapple, Bangi, Watermelon, Orange, Grape etc.).

10. Foodstuffs – Any type of unwrapped/unpackaged food and food that can spread odors like polao, biryani etc.

11. Flowers and plants - Fresh flowers in open condition, bouquets, seedlings of all types of plants, plant tubs etc.

12. Sharp objects - knives, scissors, scissors, scissors and any other sharp objects.

13. Metal/Iron objects - All types of metal/iron objects like: rods, pipes, any metal objects with sharp and sharp edges, any articles made of metal objects, trunks, gas stoves etc.

14. Machinery Products - All types of machinery products in open condition like: drill machine, welding machine, cutter machine, pipe range etc.

15. Cylinders - All types of gas and LPG cylinders

16. Firearms - Any kind of domestic and foreign firearms and ammunition

17. Sports Equipment - All types of outdoor sports equipment such as: cricket bats, stamps, footballs, hockey sticks, badminton rackets, any kind of children’s toys etc. sequence

18. Electronics Products - Any electronics product without package like: blender, oven, kettle, washing machine, geyser, computer, monitor, printer, UPS, sound box etc.

19. Musical Instruments – All types of musical instruments without packets like: harmonium, tabla, guitar, violin etc.

20. Fuel and Combustibles - Any type of fuel and flammables such as: Petrol, Diesel, Octane, Kerosene, Turpentine, Alcohol, Spray cans etc.

21. Corrosive material - any type of corrosive material and harmful chemicals such as: car batteries, IPS, acid, mercury, alkali etc.

22. Balloons - Gas filled balloons/flying toys

23. Bets and Fireworks - Any type of bets and fireworks

24. Narcotics - All types of intoxicants

25. Other - The Metrorail Authority may amend, add and subtract the above list of items prohibited from carrying in Metrorail stations and trains for the safety of the Metrorail system, passengers and the State as per necessity and reality.
